Mother’s Day was the brainchild of Anna Jarvis as a day to honor her own mother, Ann Jarvis. In 1908, Anna began a campaign to have Mother’s Day designated as a national holiday. In 1914, Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation designating Mother’s Day, held on the second Sunday in May, as a national holiday to honor mothers.
Don’t forget to honor your mother this Sunday, May 14.
